Little Manatee River State Park & Deleon Springs State Park

The landscape architect was commissioned as prime consultant to develop plans for Little Manatee River State Park. Following the development of a master plan, Frederick Halback*’s team developed 2.5 miles of roadway, parking areas, picnic facilities, canoe launches, camping areas, and trailheads for hiking, and horseback riding. At Deleon Springs State Park, the landscape architect worked with the
State of Florida Department of Natural Resources to develop plans for an improved entry road, parking, swimming area and bulkhead that blended into the natural surroundings. Today, the spring is visited by thousands of park guests who swim, fish, and paddle canoes in the beauty of ‘Real Florida.’
