Downtown's Living Room

Lake Eola Park returned to the public an important downtown open space. Frederick Halback* developed a timeless plan and as the prime consultant addressed a multitude of issues, such as downtown economic development, image, event production, urban linkages, and safety. Working with the City, Civic Groups, Police, adjacent businesses and residential participants, a comprehensive plan was developed. The urban park provides over one (1) mile of lake front for major downtown events, from art festivals to concerts, holiday events, and fireworks. It is the downtown living room used by locals and visitors and has become the most photographed element of downtown.
