Improving the Downtown Core
These ambitious projects were inspired by the original streetscape guidelines co-authored by Frederick Halback*. The guidelines led the landscape architect to design and implement numerous blocks of pedestrian improvements in the downtown core. Often these projects included the complete upgrade of underground utilities and the reduction or reorientation of traffic lanes. Serving as a horizontal elevator, Lymmo is a bus transit system in a dedicated lane. Streetscape treatments and stations throughout the route provide a continuous landscape, public art and lighting program.
