Marquis Latimer + Halback Selected to Gator100

Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc. was named to the University of Florida’s 2019 Gator100 during a ceremony on Feb. 22 at UF’s J. Wayne Reitz Union Grand Ballroom. Sponsored by the UF Alumni Association, in partnership with the UF Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center, the Gator100 recognizes the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or led by UF alumni in the world.  Ernst & Young calculated each company’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the past three years to generate the ranking.

ML+H was ranked #96 with a CAGR of 25.51%.

“We are honored to be part of such a significant group of entrepreneurs,” said Jeremy Marquis, President/CEO.  “As we seek to tell stories of place throughout the southeast, our clients and team are at the core of who we serve and how we make such wonderful places come alive.”

Based in the nation’s oldest city of St. Augustine, Florida, ML+H has earned a distinct reputation for creating unique design solutions focused on historic and cultural landscapes. With a staff of 10, the office seeks to balance today’s need with the rich history and culture of the past. Since 1978, the firm’s projects and approach have been recognized with awards from the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation (FTHP), American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and many others.

The firm is led by President/CEO, Jeremy Marquis, RLA, a 2008 graduate in landscape architecture who received the 2015 Young Alumnus of the Year award from UF’s College of Design, Construction, and Planning.  Vice President/COO Fremont Latimer, RLA (MLA, 2010), CFO/Treasurer Laura Marquis, CPA (MAcc, 2009), and Founding Principal Frederick Halback, RLA, FASLA (BLA, 1976) make ML+H a true part of Gator Nation.

“The Gator100 honors UF alumni from across the university who are founding and growing amazing companies around the country,” said Kent Fuchs, president of the University of Florida. “It’s an incredible affirmation of the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of the Gator Nation.”
