1978

Frederick Halback and Glendon Herbert start the firm Herbert Halback, Inc. in Winter Park

1979

The firm moves to downtown Orlando and is commissioned to be the landscape architects for the Florida Historic Capitol - Capitol Center Complex

1980

The firm grows quickly adding associates Annette Chaffon Perry, Jeff Dix and Fred Peace

1984

Orange Avenue and Pine Street completed in downtown Orlando leading to over 50 blocks of streetscape work

1985

Loch Haven Park Completed

1986

Lake Eola Park Completed

1989

Glendon Herbert retires and Frederick Halback becomes president

1990

Frederick Halback receives National Awards for Environmental Design of Loch Haven and Lake Eola Parks in White House Ceremonies

1990

The Swan & Dolphin Hotels at Walt Disney World are completed

1991

The firm completes work on HealthPark Florida in Fort Myers

1993

Disney’s All Star Resorts is completed

1995

Ginger Corless and Randy Railman become partners

1997

Frederick Halback elected to College of Fellows for Built Works by the American Society of Landscape Architects

1997

The firm completes Disney’s Wide World of Sports

1998

Lymmo, the 4.5 mile downtown Orlando circulator and Orange County Historic Center are opened

1999

The firm starts the design for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

2000

Fred moves to St. Augustine, opening Halback Design Group, Inc., and starts teaching at the University of Florida

2006

Jeremy Marquis joins the firm and the St. Augustine Multimodal Facility & Visitor Center Opens

2007

St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Arboretum opens

2010

Historic Bridge of Lions Rehabilitation project completed

2011

Jeremy Marquis becomes partner and firm is renamed Marquis Halback, Inc.

2013

Firm begins the Reconnecting the Bayfront to the Castillo project

2014

Jeremy Marquis becomes president and completes the historic Colonial Quarter project

2015

Jeremy Marquis receives UF Outstanding Young Alumnus award

2015

Fremont Latimer becomes partner and firm is re-names Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc.

2016

Historic Downtown Improvement Streetscape project completed

2016

The firm completes the master plan update to the iconic Amelia Island Plantation

2017

UWF Historic Trust Museum Plaza Master Plan in Pensacola completed

2017

The firm settles into our new offices at 34 Cordova Street, St Augustine

2018

ML+H is commissioned to provide the design for the Daytona Beach Riverfront Esplanade

2019

The firm is selected by the University of Florida to the Gator100 fastest growing, ‘gator-owned’ businesses in the world

2019

ML+H commissioned as a continuing consultant to prepare a Landscape Master Plan for the University of West Florida
