Project Description & Challenge

The epicenter for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the historic African-American neighborhood of Lincolnville is the site of a proposed 50,000 sq. ft. world-class Civil Rights museum and research institute. Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc. has provided a thoughtful master plan for preserving history and telling the story of the civil rights struggle in America.

Solution

Streetscapes, entry signage, and parks all connect this museum campus to the surrounding homes, institutions, and commercial areas of downtown, leading to a stable neighborhood for future generations.
