Project Description & Challenge

Rising from a former shipbuilding site on the San Sebastian River, Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc. is redeveloping a marine-oriented retail, hospitality, residential village with spectacular views of downtown St. Augustine. The project includes a 1,200 pedestrian promenade that can support fishing tournaments, art fairs, farmer’s markets, and community events.

Utilizing the site’s close relationship to the water, ML+H has created a master plan and detailed design that includes public spaces and parks. The results successfully transition the St. Augustine Shipyard from a former boat manufacturing location into a vibrant celebration of the working waterfront.
