Project Description & Challenge

Having been retained by the University of West Florida Historic Trust, Marquis Latimer + Halback, Inc. has developed a master plan and design to create an engaging urban plaza that replaces a parking lot in the center of historic Pensacola. Program elements include a civic green, accessible pathways, archeology exhibit, events stage, interpretive play area, and revitalized streetscapes.

With the successful approval of the master plan by the Historic Trust and City of Pensacola, the plaza tells the story of the ‘City of Five Flags’, providing a new civic engagement space, while knitting together the TT Wentworth State Museum with the Historic Pensacola Village.
