Collector Luxury Inn & Gardens

Project Description + Challenge

Adaptive Reuse as a Luxury Hotel

For over 2 years, ML+ H guided this restoration of 9 historic homes in downtown St. Augustine.  This 32-room inn is a compelling example of adaptive reuse, and both the homes and gardens have been fully restored to honor the legacy of Kenneth Dow, the esoteric collector who first purchased the historic homes and art pieces found throughout. ML+H developed the overall master plan and complete landscape architectural and public participation elements.

Our Solution

This is a place that tells its centuries-old story through art, history, architecture, and gardens.  The Collector rewrites the story of America’s oldest city with modern amenities in a sensory immersion that captivates and enthralls.
