Project Description + Challenge

Engaging the Visitor and Telling Pensacola’s Story

Having been retained by the University of West Florida Historic Trust, ML+H has developed a master plan and design to create an engaging urban plaza that replaces a parking lot in the center of historic Pensacola. Program elements include a civic green, accessible pathways, archeology exhibit, events stage, interpretive play area, and revitalized streetscapes.

Our Solution

With the successful approval of the master plan and design by the Historic Trust and City of Pensacola, the plaza tells the story of the City of Five Flags.’ Our design provides a new civic engagement space, while knitting together the TT Wentworth State Museum with the Historic Pensacola Village.
